Nicola Visser  is a movement maker. She teaches, performs and produces dance and movement projects . She studied community dance at Trinity Laban in London with distinction as a Community Dance Animateur. The underlying dance methodology Nicola uses in her projects is a combination of improvisation, new dance and contemplative movement. She begins from ordinary everyday movement – that which is familiar. She has an interdisciplinary approach and facilitates workshops which call for an embodied response to ideas, theory and place. Her work has involved a transition from the formal theatre context to a physical engagement with land, people and place. She seeks to connect communities and people with where they find themselves and enliven engagement on a physical and poetic level. Nicola is interested in where and how we place our attention and how we are moved to make meaning of the world around us.
